Several new Wrexham players have shone this season, but one of them will be absent for several weeks later in 2025.

Kieffer Moore has become so important for Wrexham in the big-man role and already has five goals to his name this season.

Lewis O’Brien has shone following his summer transfer from Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest.

With James McClean and Matty James not starting matches, new arrival Josh Windass has become Wrexham’s captain on the pitch this season.

Elsewhere, Issa Kabore has been one of the Dragons’ best players during his brief spell at the club.

Why Wrexham are going to lose Issa Kabore

Wrexham fans praised Kabore heavily after the right-back made his debut versus Norwich City and provided two assists.

The defender has joined on a season-long loan from Manchester City and already has three assists in just four Championship matches.

Parkinson has dubbed Kabore ‘quality’ after he added some much-needed pace and power to the wing-back role.

Fans are similarly smitten with the loanee and already have a song for the right-back, who has been tipped to become a new fan favourite similar to Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer.

However, Wrexham fans will have to say goodbye to Kabore later this year, at least for a few weeks.

That is because the Man City man will be travelling with Burkina Faso to compete at the 2025 African Cup of Nations.

Which Wrexham fixtures will Issa Kabore miss

Burkina Faso’s AFCON campaign gets underway on December 24 versus Equatorial Guinea.

They then play Algeria on December 28, before their final group fixture on New Year’s Eve versus Sudan.

So, at the very least, Kabore will not be able to play for Wrexham when they take on Sheffield United (December 26), Preston North End (December 29) and Blackburn Rovers (January 1).

Should Burkina Faso make it out of the group stage, the defender could miss a few more games, depending on how far his country go in the competition.

Wrexham play Derby County on January 4 and Norwich City on January 17. The AFCON final is scheduled to take place on January 18.
